James is a member of the Law Society England and Wales, the Property Litigation Association, the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists, the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners and the Notaries’ Society, and is a Past President of the Berks Bucks and Oxon Law Society.

James is head of the firm’s litigation department and advises both companies and individuals on commercial litigation and dispute resolution including contentious property(including landlord and tenant) contentious trusts and probate and ADR. James has also held the offices of Under Sheriff and High Court Enforcement Officer for Buckinghamshire.

James's administrative functions within the firm include being the money laundering compliance officer and being in charge of the firm’s information technology.
