Debt Recovery

Credit control and the pursuit of debtors are vital to the success of any business. Many businesses and companies already rely on us as part of their credit control procedure, and we will provide you with an efficient, reliable and cost effective service to help you recover bad debts. This may include initial advice, the enforcement of Judgements, bringing actions to make sure a debtor’s assets are secured, or bankruptcy/liquidation proceedings.

The Cost to You

Our charges will vary depending upon the size and volume of the debts. For regular or large amounts of work we will be pleased to agree fixed rates. For an initial letter and chasing of a debtor, which frequently results in payment, we charge 1.5% + VAT of the sum recovered subject to a minimum of £45 + VAT. If further action is required we will discuss with you the most appropriate options and the cost which would be involved. You may be able to recover some of your costs from the debtor if proceedings are issued and you are sussessful.

If proceedings are necessary we will tell you what the Court fees will be to issue proceedings and enforce any judgment. An up to date list can be found on the Court Service website.

If a large or particularly old commercial debt is pursued then the interest you are entitled to under the Late Payment Regulations can be quite substantial.
